Terms of Use
Version 2026-07-20 · published 20 July 2026
These terms govern your use of Gauntlet, a macOS application published by Objectif Thunes ("we", "us"), Sydney, Australia. By purchasing, downloading, or using Gauntlet you agree to them.
1. License
When you purchase Gauntlet we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on Macs that you own or control, for one person. The license covers the 1.x version series, including all 1.x updates. Paid major upgrades, if any, will be optional.
2. What you may not do
- Redistribute, resell, rent, or sublicense the app or your license key.
- Share a single license across multiple people or an organization.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the app, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Circumvent license validation.
3. Your agents, your responsibility
Gauntlet runs command-line programs that you choose — AI coding agents, shells, or anything else — inside terminal sessions on your machine. Those programs act under your instructions and your provider accounts, and their own terms apply. We are not responsible for what the programs you run do, including changes they make to your files and repositories, or for fees they incur with third-party providers.
4. Estimates are estimates
Usage figures shown in the app — token counts and "API value" dollar equivalents — are computed locally from the log files your tools write, against published API prices at the time the rate table was last updated. They are estimates for your information, not billing records.
5. Warranty
Gauntlet is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection rules; where such guarantees apply, our liability is limited to the remedies those laws provide.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for your license. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data caused by programs you chose to run.
7. Termination
We may terminate your license if you materially breach these terms and do not remedy the breach after we notify you. You can end the agreement at any time by deleting the app; sections 3–6 survive.
8. Changes
We may update these terms for new versions of the app or when the law requires. The current version always lives at this address; material changes will be noted in release notes.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
